102 Eaton square has had an amazing history being a school a cultural centre and more recently occupied by squatters – a story that made national newspapers.
The home has now been bought by a private client to turn into a private home with a basement extension including swimming pool and health suite.
The basement areas needed a complete design for the waterproofing works and the design Team at Wykamol and registered installer Advance Property Preservation quickly produced a plan and design to create a dual waterproofing scheme for this large basement area.
The property has many underground vaulted rooms and care was needed to make sure that the areas were carefully dealt with, as all the angled rooms needed to work together seamlessly in the scheme to waterproof this space.
A cement based crystalline slurry was specified alongside our cavity drain membranes to give a dual waterproofing scheme to BS8102.
This gives a Type A and Type C waterproofing scheme.
As can be seen in the images our yellow high visual yellow 20mm membranes was used on the floors so taped joints can be seen more easily, Simon Wootton of Advance and the Wykamol team had many visits to site to check on progress and we are looking forward to the full renovation project to finish at the end of 2022.
Being able to design these underground spaces enables Wykamol to look at many varied projects from small domestic cellars to large commercial multi-level basement areas.
Care is always be taken to ensure the right waterproofing contractor, like Advance, is on site installing these products.
Once this project is completed a long-term insurance warranty will be issued and a final sign off by the wykamol team will be undertaken to complete the insured scheme.
