Rising Damp Can Sometimes Climb 1.2m high. So Can Wykamol Cavity Drain Membranes.

Rising damp rarely causes issues over 1 metre up the wall, but occasionally a salt band can occur over 1 metre and can cause expensive issues  with new plastering works.

In most instances, gravity overpowers the capillary action and prevents the water moving any higher.

Most contractors have dealt with the issue using 1 metre membranes alongside DPC creams to stop these salts and dampness problems.

However, there have been occasions when contractors have connected new plasterwork and plasterboards to the mesh membranes, salts and a damp band can occur up to 200mm above the 1 metre high membrane.

Now Wykamol have solved the issue with the introduction of our 1.2 metre high meshed membrane; a first in the industry.

As the only UK manufacturer of Cavity Drain Membranes for basement waterproofing, Wykamol are uniquely placed to fix this, making life simpler and much less wasteful for us all.

Our BBA-Approved range of membranes is now available in 1.2m width. This new width is available across all our comprehensive range.
