When a specialist basement contractor wanted help with the waterproofing of a Notting Hill home, they, naturally, chose the team at Wykamol to help with a design and specialist drawings to waterproof this large new basement space.
The scheme needed a dual waterproofing design that integrated two forms of waterproofing to conform to BS8102.
Wykamol Hydradry, a crystalline cement based waterproofing slurry, was used as a Type A system followed by a Type C cavity drain membrane system. This was linked with a perimeter channel system incorporating flushing points.
Wykamol were on site every step of the way to check on the progress of the project and to sign off for insurance warranties.
These amazing homes in areas like Notting Hill have become a favourite for creating structural works by digging beneath the property. The excessive price of houses in these areas makes the creation of a new basement space invaluable in terms of pounds per square feet of space created.
Wykamol and their design team work across the UK and Ireland looking at basement plans and designing these schemes to create robust waterproofing schemes.
Care is taken in the planning of spaces like this to establish not only the waterproofing, but drainage and pumped drainage designs that are best suited to the properties needs.
Collaborating with specialist pumped drainage manufacturers we can also help design the pumped drainage for areas like bathrooms and kitchens which are below natural drainage areas.
Every step of the way Wykamol takes care of these issues and formulates an action plan to tackle all situations.
