When a major house builder in Devon planned a new development, Wykamol were chosen to help waterproof the homes built into the hillside.
Plans and designs were carried out by the Wykamol design team some 12 months prior to building works started. This included 13 specialist drawings provided free of charge by ourselves.
The scheme required a NHBC approved design which required a dual waterproofing scheme
The design incorporated Sure Proof for the external leaves a Type A Bba approved self-adhesive membrane system which also included a specialist primer for the walls first.
And a Type C cavity drain membrane system for the internal walls linked with a perimeter channel system draining to natural drainage with jetting eyes for maintaining this system.
Regular checks are being made by Jon Watkins technical manager for the South West, and these site visits are invaluable for the builder to keep an eye out on any potential issues and to sign off 5 properties at a time.
In total 26 homes have been completed on Phase 1, with 3 more phases to go which utilise our waterproofing systems.
