A developer in Stockport, Greater Manchester bought an unused basement in a large building with a view to turning it into 2 apartments for rental.
Wykamol were asked to attend site 6 months ago to look at a design for the waterproofing of this structure. Designs were drawn up and submitted alongside plans to the local authority to turn this space into liveable accommodation.
These were quickly approved and Wykamol were able to attend the site to check on the implementation in progress and to sign off the waterproofing for building control.
Type C cavity drain membranes are being used throughout the basement linked via a modular drainage system.
Our high visibility membrane CM20 yellow is being used on the floor and this has helped the contractor by being able to see all the taped joints more clearly.
8mm wall membranes are also being used and all fixings have specialist preformed seals to ensure no hydrostatic pressure can escape through the plug.
This great space is being converted into a 1 x 2 bedroom apartment and a 1 bedroom apartment. This promises to be a great investment by the developer who paid a small amount for the basement.
Wykamol were able to issue transferable warranties on this project and sign off all designs should the properties be sold on.
