When a property developer contacted us recently and asked us to help him in the build of his new home near Huddersfield in West Yorkshire. This included a adding a basement structure.
Wykamol were asked to look at the plans and create a dual waterproofing scheme, taking into consideration the geology report and consider any potential ground gas issues.
We supplied the relevant drawings and CSSW approved designs and these were submitted.
These plans were all approved and work started on site. Our technical manager for Yorkshire and the north east, Wayne Longstaff, was onsite every step of the way with installation advice and checking the preparation of the areas that required waterproofing.
So far we have used our primer and bonded sheet membrane, BBA approved Sure Proof and a protection membrane and drainage layer geotextile membrane.
In the very near future a Type C cavity drain membrane will be installed to give the development a dual waterproofing certificate.
Impressed with the project and the quality of the installation, the developer has also now decided to build basements in all future developments. A great solution for him when adding extra space in future projects.
Getting Wykamol involved in projects right from the start means we can deal with all construction types, from blockwork to poured concrete and even ICF construction.
Our experience and qualified waterproofing designers and site checking facility means a fault free and guaranteed project is easily attainable.
